does a palatal expander work and widen your mandible?

I need a palatal expander because i want my maxilla to be more forward and i wanna better my fwhr since its sitting at 1.69 now, is a palate expander a one time thing or do i need to monthly do it. cuz form what ive seen a rapid palatal expander is only used for 2-3weeks and 9 month retention, i need some more indepth information about the palate expander so please help as much as you can

it’s length and width is mostly genetic, you can increase test and igf-1 production aswell as hgh but it will only make it more ,,visible”. you can’t really widen your gonions or mandible. you can train masseters but it’s only muscles. for maxilla there’s nothing really focus on hormones and androgenic receptors
