Does anyone know how i could travel from america to africa without any flights or cruises?

i want to go to africa but i cant spend so much money on flights or cruises, i was thinking about working at the port and maybe find someone or any boat that goes to africa but if anyone has any other way or even i dont know any reliable volunteer work contact or something like that i would be so grateful might even pay for a good answer
