i dont really play it anymore but i guess it was the grind of getting insanely good at the game also theres this one gamemode in the game where you have to finish every single mission in one sitting and dude the grind for it was actually amazing i spent like 100 hours with this one team just doing it over n over again til we got it on the max difficulty (then i got it solo myself months later and just kept doing challenges upon challenges) + this game mehanics unironically go so deep you got shit like wave counting stealth techs etc etc etc
