Do you find you can stay more focused and understand information better if you tilt your head to one side? Or perhaps you think you’re holding your head straight until a photographer asks you to straighten it.
A persistent head tilt can be a sign of a brain imbalances that needs addressing, even if you don’t have other symptoms. These brain imbalances may manifest as more serious problems down the road. By addressing what is causing your head tilt early, you can improve brain performance and prevent future problems.

When you have a persistent head tilt, you typically don’t know that your head is tilting because in your mind, it’s perfectly straight. This is an underlying indicator that your brain is working inefficienctly.

A head leaning to one side is an indicator for an upper neck problem. This is due to a Subluxation in the upper neck closing the hole where the information passes from the brain to the body (know as the foramen magnum); it is usually at the top bone, C1.
To take the pressure off the nerves of the brain-stem the head naturally tilts to one side, similar to how we change our postures when we carry heavy items. If there was no head tilt this would narrow the hole at the bottom of the skull and would worsen the nerve system problem. When left untreated this can trickle down and affect the rest of the spine, leading to scoliosis. Correction of C1 helps the body to balance itself, no longer needing to adopt this tilted head posture.
