I've heard that going to the gym at a young age (I'm 14) can affect your growth. I'm 5'9" but I haven't really started puberty, or at least it's not very advanced. So should I go or not?

Not unless you are overtraining, or get a serious fracture , tear etcI've heard that going to the gym at a young age (I'm 14) can affect your growth. I'm 5'9" but I haven't really started puberty, or at least it's not very advanced. So should I go or not?
Force you to what? You can go to doctor if she doesnt believe you but choose a good doctor because some will say that the gym will kill because they are sub5 skinnycellsChat gpt says the same as you, I'm still a little undecided but I think my mother is going to force me anyway
Obertraining wont do anything to growth. If you tear muscle it will also prob wont do too much to growth but it will have other side effects but if you do warmup you wont prob get any tearNot unless you are overtraining, or get a serious fracture , tear etc
Chronic overtraining would have an affect but you are right that a tear isnt the be all end allObertraining wont do anything to growth. If you tear muscle it will also prob wont do too much to growth but it will have other side effects but if you do warmup you wont prob get any tear
I dont think that he would do 14 sets 18 reps per muscle Group and something like this wont have affect on growth but theres 99% change that he can tear a muscleChronic overtraining would have an affect but you are right that a tear isnt the be all end all
Ye true, still not good general practiceI dont think that he would do 14 sets 18 reps per muscle Group and something like this wont have affect on growth but theres 99% change that he can tear a muscle
