Without looking of top of my head I can't remember anything about water retention or any interaction to cause this. It should pass through your system doing its normal actions but not being all that present to you because it is not relieving anything specific. I personally can taste most Nsaids( Tylenol, Ibuprofen etc..) on my breath after it enters my system. But taking it when unnecessary is not recommended either. Chronic use of Nsaids can cause liver damge……. and almost seems I remember can contribute to kidney stones but…. I am not certain if that is accurate. But there is no reason to take it other than the reasons stated on the instructions.

Swelling is one of the features of inflammation. Ibuprofen is essentially a Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drug (NSAID). So it should reduce swelling if the swelling is the result of an Inflammatory response.

possibly if your bloat is induced by inflammation.
although abuse of this medication can induce stomach ulcers and potentially ruin the gut microbiome as it weakens the mucosa lining of the gut.
