I'm asking this because I'm about to sign a lease and having second thoughts

in terms of practicality you're getting a good deal for the location and what the place entails, so you're not getting ripped off by any means.

But presentation is important and definitely counts for something.

I'd say don't settle for anything less than satisfactory on all fronts, especially if your budget is fairly flexible.

if you are renting, location matters a lot. You would not want to live in sketchy neighborhood or away from stores and trasportation if you dont own a car. I wouldn't care too much what the outside looks like as long as the inside is nice and well maintained. Different story for mortgage,

This is my thought process so I'm going to sign the lease
