I think so. 2 NBA championships and 2 Finals MVPs,1 regular-season MVP (2014), 4 scoring titles. One of the most efficient and versatile scorers ever. But I also agree with arguments against his GOAT status. He never had defining championship as the undisputed leader and never had a significant impact on the game's evolution like Jordan, LeBron, or Kareem. What do you think?

absolutely fucking not. 0 legacy except numbers. never been the carrier of a championship winning team, let alone a dynasty, never been the best player in the league (this is not entirely his fault, depends on the era you play in). not even sure if he is top 25 material.

i love his attitude about basketball, though. not your typical "send da video" NBA chimp

That's a fair take. KD's numbers are insane, but his legacy is kind of hollow compared to true all-time greats. He's never really carried a team to a championship the way Jordan, LeBron did. His best moments came on a Warriors team that was already dominant without him.

Bill Russell? Lol

yes. 11 titles right in wilt's face. always thought it was idiotic to include wilt in those lists, but then act like the guy who owned him throughout his entire career doesn't exist, all while emphasizing the importance of rings won.

also, cage at the "modern nba is a joke, players from older eras would be averaging 45/15/15 today" meme.

i think jordan is an undisputed goat, but he'd be a devin booker tier player in 2025.

these comparisons are, ofc, pointless because of all the changes in rules and criteria. even the most subtle change can significantly affect the game.

Russell played in the 1950s and 60s when the NBA only had 8-14 teams. His dominance was more about team success rather than individual skill, while LeBron was top tier in every statistical category and played at an elite level for two decades. LeBron undoubtedly deserves his GOAT status and is definitely in top 5. Not even up for debate tbh.

no. those two rings he has are the weakest chips in major sports

He's the GOAT scorer and top 5 all time overall. But too many braindead normies are still pussyhurt about him going to GSW and care about dumb narratives like rangzzz (team accomplishment) and muh leadership.

Imagine putting this nigga back in the 80s/90s and having these 150 pound kumskins guarding him 1v1 with no zone defense :feelskek::feelskek::feelskek:

They would bring back slavery for what he'd do to these defenders

same goes for wilt (a lot of things except the number of teams were different too, hence his surreal records), yet people are including him in those lists regularly. olajuwon and some others are btfoed from those for that exact reason - not being dominant during their era/prime.

lebron played/plays in the era of superteams, where he could basically assemble a big 3 wherever he went. also, his absolute numbers are only so high because of his longevity. props for that, but it's still just weaponized stat padding.

objectively, the top 10 is (with possible minor switches, excluding #1):
1. jordan
2. magic
3. abdul-jabbar
4. wilt
5. russell
6. bird
7. robertson
8. duncan
9. bryant
10. shaq

jokić is already top 5 material, but his career is far from over, so it makes no sense to try and rank him.

dončiΔ‡ is the best offensive player of all time even if he retired tomorrow.

agree with your main point.

muh brutal defense in the 90s (the 80s can't be counted here, do your homework). bradley fucking beal would have averaged 30 in every season in the 20th century. so tired of that boomer argument. imagine the mythology if there was a pic like this:

1743273055390

for someone from the 90s.
