ive done a bit of research, and it turns out there's a solid, research-backed reason why engaging in art or music can make someone more appealing. Studies indicate that creative pursuits are closely linked to traits like openness and emotional intelligence qualities that many women find attractive because they suggest a thoughtful and adaptable nature. When someone expresses themselves through art or music, it often offers insight into their values and supposed "emotional depth".

Psychologists have found that vulnerability demonstrates trust and relatability. It's why women often feel a connection with artists or musicians whose work resonates with them emotionally. People are drawn to this kind of commitment and the self-assurance that comes from it, as it reflects a person who is genuinely invested in their supposed growth. Additionally, those passionate about art or music tend to have unique or unconventional perspectives, which naturally spark curiosity and intrigue. It’s no wonder that these creative traits can make a person memorable/desirable.

I think this might often be a "proxy" for status, so they are evaluating his earned or potential social status rather than pure skills. And "how would society view me if I was with him, would it be a trophy for me"

Mostly if you are decent at your form of art and have at least a few thousand followers from it

music is appeal

any hobby except for some stupid shit like stamp collecting or collecting anything adds to your appeal

Yes, music is better for that

yeah. will also improve your life in general.

Creativeness and originality in artistic fields are extremely high indicators of intelligence, and make you interesting and unique, all things that people tend to think are attractive.

And women do indeed love vulnerability and emotional depth, but only as long as it doesn't inconvenience them in any way.

The brooding emotional hot guy from a romance novel is great, because all those traits make him romantic and dreamy without having any particular impact on her everyday life.
But their boyfriend down crying due to his insecurities/trauma? That is just extra work, and she is supposed to be the center of attention anyways, and dealing with that stuff is painful and uncomfortable... this is way less appealing, clearly.
Thousands of guys make the mistake of opening up to women who pressure them into confessing what troubles them, women who may define themselves as feminist and wholeheartedly think things like "men should cry" and "men should express their emotions" - but once those women end up seeing what it's like, their reaction is a lot less progressive than what they themselves would think.

Guys who make art or music are appreciated precisely because they showcase those attractive qualities in a very indirect way that, as mentioned above, does not inconvenience women directly.
