Does MSDO widen the whole jaw or just the chin?

Just the chin, you will have a gap in from teeth like MSE creates

IMDO (and bimax too to some extent) wides the whole jaw.

Chin and mid mandibles but it's a shit surgery for aesthetics

i have monkey mouth need my teeth to go in. dont want do extractions or interproximal reduction
@Gaia262 if i need bimax would the widening from MSDO means i wont need decompensation from extractions?

the whole jaw but it widens less as it tapers towards the ramus

Only get an MSDO if you lower arch is very narrow. If you don't want to do extractions palate expanders can help aswell.

Pretty sure you still need to extract wisdom teeth as this is where they do the BSSO cut.

Also you may still need to decompensate to advance the mandible.

I would stick to a bimax + genio as this is the current gold standard. I wouldnt go down obscure routes that will just cost alot and won't give you good results.

segmented genio is the easy answer but chin does not matter
your chin to jaw seperation matters which is by forward growth of the mandible
bimax
