Does rule of thirds actually matter?

My lower third is longer than my midface and forehead and I'd look worse if it was changed for them to be equal. In theory I could look better with even thirds but it would require more changes than just facial third height.

My proportions are:
30.1% upper third
30.5% midface
39.4% lower third

Downswung btw

I think this might just be popsci cope

I should have looked into it more before I posted so I could make a scathing thread exposing the cope. The face divided into fifths graphic made me laugh because it means shit ESR is "ideal"

U measure from the middle of the 2 eyebrows and at the hairline
Even by that metric they all have overly long lower thirds/overly short midface if rule of thirds is true

Tall lower thirds are masculine
All that matters is that all thirds arent more then 3.5% from eachother and that the lower third isnt above 36.5%

too lazy to actually do the math rn but visually I can just tell their lower thirds are like 5% longer or more if you measure from the center of the eyebrow.

Harmony is more important then dimorphism for aesthetics

GIMP measuring tool and a calculator. There's definitely better ways to do it I just don't wanna learn new software
