Does sunscreen actually do anything for collagen if you wear it and don’t go outside?

so sunscreen is bad ?

there’s two types physical and chemical. The type I got at my house is chemical. Debating whether to use it or not.. could raise estrogen lol

The whole point of sunscreen is to block UVA rays, which compromise collagen. Putting it on when there is no sunlight won't do shit you fucking tool.

If you're in front of a window for an extended period of time, you're still exposed to UVA- make of that what you will.
No, chemical (or organic) UV filters will not fuck up your hormones.

idk boyo. problem with sunscreen is there's a bunch of shit in it. sure it protects from uv but does that get counteracted by the petroleum waste it's made of?

photoaging is not just about sun. even the light you use at home, the screens we have make an effect on your face.
so it's better to use even at home but i didn't use indoor till now. been using for weeks and keeping it going for years i hope.

Why would it?
Also most sunscreens tend not to have a "petroleum waste" base.

well since there are about 50 of them, a lot of which I don't recognize, one or two is bound to be unlucky to be on your face all day. foids age so bad in part due to the shit they put on their faces every day
anyway I'll highlight some words that trigger me

Water, Butyloctyl Salicylate, Neopentyl Glycol Diethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Stearyl/Octyldodecyl Citrate Crosspolymer, Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Hydrogenated Dimer Dilinoleyl/Dimethylcarbonate Copolymer, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Glycerin*, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil, Nigella Sativa (Black Cumin) Seed Oil*, Rubus Idaeus (Red Raspberry) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Jojoba Esters, Stearyl Alcohol, Arachidyl Alcohol, Arachidyl Glucoside, Behenyl Alcohol, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Silica, Alumina, Ethylhexylglycerin, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Phenoxyethanol *certified organic ingredient

Just because you don't recognise a word, that doesn't make it problematic.
Neopentyl Glycol Diethylhexanoate is an emollient.
Hydrogenated Dimer Dilinoleyl/Dimethylcarbonate Copolymer in this case is used to help improve the water resistance of the sunscreen.
Cetyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol which is not the same as denatured alcohol. Its used as an emulsifier and an emollient.
Stearyl alcohol. See above.
Arachidyl alcohol. Again, see above. Although this one isn't really used as an emulsifier.
Behenyl alcoho. Again, see above.
Alumina. In this case likely used as an anticaking agent for the zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. Potentially also a viscosity modifier.
Phenoxyethanol. A preservative limited to 1% concentration in the EU. In some people it can cause sensitisation reactions. Only really used because people freaked the fuck out about parabens.

So out of the 30 ingredients (32 if you count the zinc oxide and titanium dioxide not listed):
12 are emollients.
6 are emulsifiers
4 are anticaking/dispersing agents

yeah I don't have time to learn all that shit there are thousands of additives. and how can you be sure that they're really safe to be on the skin for extended periods?

The point isn't for you to learn it- thats what people like me spend years doing. The point is to understand that just because you don't know what a compound is or if a compound sounds intimidating, that doesn't mean that its problematic.
how can you be sure that they're really safe to be on the skin for extended periods?
We have a shit ton of safety data for each ingredient- check out the SCCS Opinions if you want more information.
