Because you're thinking, you're like a AI incapable of seeing itself outside the information the AI has. They would never know humans see them, specially the ones who designed the AI. The question is absurd, you cannot answer it. Not even I because it would mean "I can get out of my consciousness and become God". If anything exists it has to be perceived.

You cannot ask unliving beings if they exist without living beings.

As far as the human understanding of the cosmos goes, we humans are the only beings (unless some other sentient race is out there) out here for like a billion light years.
If we don't exist, the universe will still exist.
The universe is the one observing us, not us observing it

The universe is not a being, the universe cannot observe. Prove "the universe" is cappable of perception. Also humans might not be the only smart animals in the entire world. The sun or a comet doesn't observe you, it's the other way around.
