Does this mean we shouldn't chew much anymore?

"As the masseter became larger, the anterior maxillary region tended to shift downwards relative to the cranial base, whereas the posterior region tended to shift upwards."

isn't this good

Chewing gum can fuck you up, but eating hard foods/meat is the right way.

No that means the massateer s are pushing the maxilla forward which is good

Anterior is the front, which goes down. Posterior is the back, which goes up.
creating the undesired :
clockwise rotation of the maxilla.
Aka the downward growth.
Which @Dude420 is doing the surgery for the exact opposite.

Where did it mention forward growth? Did you even read the abstract?

So what do we do
rope

Idk boyo. I believe tongue posture is only legit for breathing.
For jaw gainz I am blasting chemicals while you all cope with mastic gum.

Not for much.
Copper peptides color is blue.
Running for a small cycle atm, my associate hooked me up for free. Will run a megacycle with it when I have money.

What effect did your cycle have on your jaw gains and what did u use? Test & Tren?

Not test or tren.
And I jsut started my peptides and letrozole.
Will report on the full thing after I finish the experience. Probably after 6 months (idk if I will be active here).

We need to get Astro sky and mike mews opinion on this

this one says stronger masseters correlate with less vertical growth

Masseter muscle thickness was found to be negatively correlated to vertical facial pattern and positively associated with transverse craniofacial morphology.

unless i am retardcel this similar study contradicts that.

Your study is in dentofacial aka patients who are growing.
OP is in adults.

Still don't know if this would change anything tbh.

tbh just chew moderately and blast gh/peptides

Do you have down syndrome? It is literally the exact same movement, just that you chew on the gum more which would give you faster gains cause your masseter muscles are not like the ones in your LOW T bicep that get sore after 10 reps

JFL for each study confirming one thing, there is another that disproves it. This is why we dont take 1 study as proof for jack shit. Some lie, some are made by retards, some are threatened by jews. We need hundreds to prove anything, which is why anecdotal evidence is not totally shit when it comes to shit like mewing.

JFL at waiting for 200 studies to prove mewing before doing it

Such a shame that maxillary rotation and position is one of the most important traits in the universe, yet is pretty much impossible to unfuck in adulthood.

I hope we develop a chemical that makes the bones less dense temporarily so we can remodel them easier. Something that doesn't turn out to have some insane side effects.

even assuming that why would strong masseters cause midface shortening in juveniles but then cause horsefacedom in adults? the logic doesnt add up. chewing is overrated regardless. chew for a few hours max but focus more on hard mewing

Mewing wouldn't hurt for sure.
And yeah, we would need a meta-analysis.

Hard mewing is comparable to tongue chewing. It may cause TMJ problems.
Stick with mewing and boost remodelling by increasing osteoclasts and osteobalasts. That would be the best bet. @NickGurr

boyo, these studies don't mean shit yet. I don't even think any of us read the full papers to see exactly what is the difference.

Thanks for your concern lovely citizen but I dont have down syndrome. Chewing regular gum is bad for you if you get that mastic gum (however its called), then sure go ahead. Other than that regular gum is useless (expect nice breath I guess)

I theorize the best way to chew is one that emulated the way our hunter/gatheterer ancestors did it is, in terms of risk of injury compared to reward (muscle growth). So instead of 3 hours of moderate chewing, 1 hour of intensive chewing is probably better for training masseters. I'd argue chewing hard for more than an hour and a half a day is a terrible idea, because no one needed to do that. If you aren't getting tired out in that much time, the resistance needs to be increased.

Not addressing your views directly here, just rambling what I think.

If chewing gives you TMJ, just fucking swiftly slit your wrists down the block because you are not ascending

Nice job trying to change what you meant. You can chew regular jewgum too, mastic gum has nothing special

fyi @Gudru they didn't study the effects of chewing.
Just the correlation with width and morphology, which could be all genetic.

AKA
slit your wrists

However, I don't know why the forum is stuck on chewing and tongue posture when it is so fucking simple. Move on to what we have reached (increase remodelling instead of force)

This shit is getting turned into a meme.

What's your guys' opinion on this, caused by chewing

Pretty sure I heard how the guy got bimax. Would be magic if it was just chewing and mewing etc
Well I'm more concerned about the zygomatic development, that doesn't happen with bimax right?

Not. so. fast.
I have a theory.

You probably all know that Fagga appliances can create even further downward growth, right? But only provided that the client already got a somewhat recessed face.

The same could be with chewing, who knows?
I mean all our ancestors had a pretty solid gonial angle, and it's an universal feature, so it looks like genetics don't reallly play a major role here.

clockwise rotation of the maxilla is downward growth if you look at your face from one side, but upward growth if you look at it from the other.

This sentence makes sense to me, assuming the slashes ( / ) imply a ratio:
Bite force was positively correlated with LPFH/TPFH and negatively with UPFH/TPFH (P < 0.05).
Bite force, meaning size of the masseter, is positively correlated with Lower Posterior Face Height relative to Total Posterior Face Height. LPFH is basically the ramus bone, presumably so.
