I theorize the best way to chew is one that emulated the way our hunter/gatheterer ancestors did it is, in terms of risk of injury compared to reward (muscle growth). So instead of 3 hours of moderate chewing, 1 hour of intensive chewing is probably better for training masseters. I'd argue chewing hard for more than an hour and a half a day is a terrible idea, because no one needed to do that. If you aren't getting tired out in that much time, the resistance needs to be increased.chew for a few hours max but focus more on hard mewing
