Doesn't bone erosion after implants disprove wolff's law?

According to wolff's law, a bone will become stronger when placed under constant/repetative pressure.

How come then that some people lose bonemass after placing implants on them?

it's because the implant is impeding bone turnover. it's essentially a foreign object stuck in place preventive the natural mechanisms of bone remodeling from taking place. no force is exerted on it, if anything, force is removed because the implant prevents anything from acting upon it

Yea but bone shouldn't even grow in size right? Just in density
