I was thinking about why the topic of skincare seems so polarizing

You talk to one person who swears by a skincare routine, and then you talk to another person who claims that using products ruined their skin and made it worse

I thought about my own experience and realized that I have been a part of both groups; I used to not use moisturizer and I never felt like my skin was dry, I probably would've been part of the group that says skincare is bullshit if I didn't have cystic acne. Accutane is the only cure for that. Accutane fixed my cystic acne, but I've had to use moisturizer daily ever since.

This all makes sense once you realize that Accutane greatly reduces sebum production. There is also a small amount of people who get a condition of having permanent dry eyes after taking Accutane, because it can cause a certain undereye gland to stop producing oils.

This might be water but I was never told that Accutane can permanently make your skin drier before I was prescribed it. So this is something you should consider if you are thinking about taking Accutane for mild acne.

just apply it to dose that it will reduce your acne heavlity and reduce oil production to moderate levels, its not about accutane it's about finding the barrier when it's better to continue/better to stop, it's like fucking edging.
