Don't take fucking corticosteroids, they are mentally damaging me.

I've been taking important amounts of corticosteroids this month of November due to a heart operation (I still have to take them in smaller amounts for the next 6 months). Right now I take 40 mg everyday. My back and chest are full of pimples and it's so disgusting I can't even look myself in the mirror without having suicidal thoughts and shit like that. Corticosteroids also have more negative effects and you can find them for example in steroids. Does it really worth it? I don't think so, my experience is being horrible. So please if you are reading this and you wonder if you should take them, consider this thread. If someone knows how much time will it take to disappear the acne, please tell me asap I need to know!

I only have to take them for the next 5-6 months and the amounts will be reduced with the months, and the side effects will eventually disappear. If someone takes cortisol for a long time he/she will get serious health problems, that's why doctors stop this med after some months

Out of curiosity, which heart condition are you having treated? I’m waiting for my NHS cardiology team to assess my heart.

i got a heart transplant because my old heart didn't work as it should. It sounds creepy but it is what it is.

Bro I sympathise with you I took them when I was 12 due to getting cucked by juvenile arthritis before that I was pretty happy kid . it basically induced death tire forehead acne , as a result grew a shitty pedo stache at 12 , gained weight and had severe facial bloating and stomach gastrical issue. Acne caused by them left fucked up scars on my forehead as well fucked my collagen.

Good news is acne went after month 3 ish but left scars , for you it depends on the severity of acne as well as your dosage. Got a bit traumatized from them as a 12 yr old kid thats expected. Now 16 not any long term implications. Just finish your course.

Finish the course even though its one of the worst thing for how you would look but in the long run you would thank yourself
