Going to the gym should be the same as getting plastic surgery done. You should do it, but at the same time “hide” that you’ve done it.
So, what do i mean this?
Your frame should look like it naturally is good/big and in proportion.
Training your arms will make you like like a gymcel.
If you’re doing compounds lifts your arms will grow in proportion with the rest of your body. It will look “natural”.
Forearms are a different story, because big forearms signal that you’re good at manual labor. You can’t get “gymcel” forearms.
Main focus are shoulders, upper chest and back. Also don’t forget to train legs to keep everything in balance and avoid the comical look.
Always start your chest days with shoulders, they should always be the priority. All three heads. Unless your (upper) chest is severely lacking.
Also, don’t wear very tight clothing. Slim fit is ideal, but nothing too tight.
I think this is the way to go, but I could be wrong and i’m open to be proven wrong.
