How can I recover from this? Literally everything I do when alone is just based on what will give me the most dopamine. Just scrolling through random social media and clicking on short YouTube videos. It’s destroyed my attention span and I want to be able to actually spend some time thinking and doing meaningful things rather than just scrolling endlessly.

don't worry, it's not just you
nowadays everything is based on instant gratification, so unless you lock yourself in an empty room for a month it's gonna be tough to gain back your dopamine receptors ngl
people in the near future won't ever even read books, everyone's dopamine receptors will be fried

Lock yourself in a empty room for a month, no internet, no music, no tv, maybe books, meditation and exercise

Rule № #1: Forget about pseudoscience terms such as dopamine and deautistify your brain

Can you give up porn, beating the shit out of your meat, your social media accounts, the internet for good, and even food(fasting)?

Do this and you'll become a mini baby Buddha amongst zombies.

forget this cuz ur not fixing it

Dopamine fast for a day. No food. No TV. No going online. No drinking. No sex. Nothing that sets off the pleasure receptors in your brain. Just meditate, do yoga, walk around in nature, write, etc.

See how that makes you feel. And then adjust accordingly afterwards. Fuck what everybody else is doing. Stop spending so much time online even though every other mind dumbed normie in society does it. Most of what you’re doing on there is a complete waste of time and you’re fucking up your brain to only respond to instant gratification. Delete social media or keep it in a very limited form. Stop surfing YouTube for hours watching other people have crazy enjoyable lives and do things that’ll actually help make that a reality in your own life. Stop eating like shit. Lift and meditate regularly. Become comfortable with being bored once in a while.

I probably could. But not food, my 5% body fat self would drop dead

It would probably be impossible to completely give up on any instant gratification completely. But would it be at all beneficial to just delete socials. No fap. And only surf youtube for a short amount of time, watching thought provoking videos and not just spam clicking on random clickbait. Or is it really all or nothing if I want to feel any benefits.
