niggas i gotta lock in so do u
reddit thread
  1. To get started, break up high dopamine activities. Don't layer high dopamine activities. Spread them out. e.g. Porn, break, masturbate, break, drink. This counts for healthy activities too. Don't eat and watch your favourite show at the same time, even if it's healthy food.
  2. Don't peak your dopamine before or after work/study. I'm trying to learn Japanese. It's hard and boring. But only because I do high level dopmine activities before it and/or after. If you drop those, or do them later on in the day, after only a couple of days studying becomes a lot easier and more fun. The activity itself gives me the most dopamine.
  3. Don't start your day with a high dopamine activity. So studying first thing in the morning is a good idea. Maybe meditate or do something you've always wanted to get good at. This allows you to slowly raise your dopamine level, cementing that activity in your mind as pleasurable. Don't forget rule 2 though.
  4. If you're completely unmotivated; move first thing in the morning. Go for a walk. Movement releases dopamine (without cause too much of a peak). Have a warm shower and gently make it as cold as you can handle. Warm up through movement after. This raises your baseline dopamine for several hours so you can get things done.
  5. Look for things you're grateful for (about what your doing) while studying/working. This gives you small peaks of dopamine that train you to enjoy what your doing, even if right now it's kinda boring. Give it a couple of days.
  6. Don't reward yourself every time. This one's a bit counterintuitive, but the (expected) reward will spike your dopamine and make the activity itself less pleasurable. If you then don't get the reward for some reason, the activity will seem less attractive. Randomise when you get the reward. This is why gambling and lootboxes are so addictive, use it to your advantage. Personally I haven't implemented this point yet, I just don't reward myself.

Dopamine exist in a plane of time is equivalent to ordered and formally separated sands on a beach, Are there orderly/formally separated sands in a beach?

It's more about lifestyle and introducing new/better habits and switching over gradually, all this extra stuff has nothing to do with dopamine receptors and are useless to do

basically, you can do whatever you want all that matters is building a habit of doing whatever you need to do there's no scientific data of scrolling having a similar effect of something like adhd for example so as long as you force yourself to work or doing whatever you need to do you'll be fine.

  • Study: "Social Media Use and Cognitive Functioning: A Review" (2021).
  • Findings: This review of existing studies concludes that there are cognitive effects associated with excessive social media use, including reduced attention span and difficulty focusing. However, it also states that these effects are not permanent and can be mitigated with moderation and time away from digital devices.
  • The review also distinguishes between digital media effects (which are often reversible and context-dependent) and ADHD (which is a persistent, long-term condition).
    • Study: "Digital Media Use and ADHD-like Symptoms in Children" (2020).
    • Findings: This study concluded that while there are similarities in the symptoms of ADHD and those seen in children who excessively use digital media, ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder with genetic and brain structure components. The attention difficulties observed with excessive screen time can be attributed to the external environment rather than an internal neurological cause.
    • The study emphasizes that ADHD symptoms in children are persistent and long-term, whereas distractions from media are often temporary and dependent on the environment.

Lol did u read these or get them from chatgpt,
The studies itself DOES show that excessive screen time can reduces attention span and cause distractions however those effects are easily reversible (aka just put the phone down) and not linked to the linked to any of ADHDs neurological symptoms ADHD is a permanent genetic brain condition that has to do with certain brain mass iself whereas media-influences attention problems are external which can be fixed by what I said.

asked chatgpt to get them i am studying rn so couldnt bother to get them
i never claimed that screentime in directly related to adhd the studies show that it mimics the symptoms of adhd which isnt the best either and as u said just put the phone down could it actually be that easy buddy u arent desensitizing anything in a day or so
i did not try to prove u wrong but u did say that

It's that easy if you don't have adhd and have the habit to work yes. All that scientific Study showed is that doing something enjoyable is reducing your attention span to other things in that moment that's it

buddy the study i gave states ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder with genetic and brain structure components but the screentime does produce similar symptoms
the study does not directly show that doing something enjoyable is reducing your attention span to other things
anything that gives u enough dopamine boost is enjoyable that why people do drugs like cocaine for example it would make u low inhib and boost your alertness but it would impair your cognitive abilities in the long run

1hour time limit on tiktok and the Bible is the answer
i do not use tiktok a lot i js scroll a lil when people post it here but every social media has made the scrolling feature available i use youtube and i sometimes spend hours scrolling it is not productive but i keep scrolling till i find something that i find good enough and would give me a good surge of dopamine
