My regular self is always comparing his life to others, always wanting more, insecure af, always trying to achieve something so others can see, thinking about past mistakes and what he will be doing in the future, obssesed with appearance, afraid of death

My simple self is always on his own enjoying the moment, he doesnt care about his life situation, doesnt have any insecurity, I can relate to others without thinking what they will think of me or if they are in a worse or better condition than me, I dont fear death as much

Having a big ego and being a narcissist is draining and in the end we die

The monks that are meditating to eliminate desire still want the same things as us. You can't eliminate desire or kill the ego.

It's like hunger. You can suppress it temporarily but it will come back stronger.

Its mostly about processing trauma wich usually leads to shallow feelings like anxiety, fear, rage,insecurities, vanity, lust

I had childhood trauma and when I grew up I started to became a narcissist to compensate for my insecurities/fears, deep down I was insecure but I had this "strong persona" to compensate for those feelings
