Manlets know every centimetre counts and I am something of an autistic heightfraud expert these days, and have been looking at winter footwear options. I like high top AF1s year round tbh but need some variety.
Timberland boots are already well known to be decent height boosting footwear and NT, even though they only add as much or even less height than some thick sneakers, but being a boot makes them great for putting lifts in.
I just wanted to highlight that they have a better model than the 6 inch premium.
The arbor road model features a thicker midsole so you get maybe like an extra centimetre or so.
Arbor road:
6 inch premium:
The multi-layer design makes it look less platformy and obvious compared to what you see in women’s boots for example, like these:
The total boot height is still 6 inches so technically you can’t fit as much lift in, but it’s better for comfort and foot health for more of your total height increase to come from a platform/midsole than a heel lift.
Whilst looking like a coping manlet is bad, I do think that if you are also liftmaxxing, using noticeably thick shoes provides somewhat of a get out of jail free card should somebody call you out for looking taller than usual.
Another option I have found is these new Nike Blazer Roam sneakers
Ok, they are kinda ugly and obviously increasing height, but I feel like they might be acceptable with certain clothing styles, depending on your age and aesthetic, and again you can liftmaxx and attribute it to the shoes if called out.
Also they are technically only marketed as women’s shoes but why give af about that?
Finally a bonus option which tbh isn’t specific to winter and has a niche use case because you can use taller and less ugly shoes for everyday wear, but if you’re a committed heightfrauder who plays sports on artificial turf, trail running shoes are good, and the best I’ve found are the ASICS Trabuco Max 3
Massive sole (which is quite normal for trail running shoes) and I have managed to comfortably play sports with a graduated full length lift in them adding just under an inch extra. I usually use like 2 inch lifts in a high top AF1, but using these to be as tall as possible on the field makes the disparity less obvious. And on their own they add more height than AF1.
If you see the same people regularly and want to heightfraud on a permanent basis, you have to be reasonably (but not 100%) consistent in how tall you appear to not arouse suspicions. Last stand emergency option if exposed is always “heel lifts needed for muh achilles tendinitis” or whatever. More believable if some but not all lift is hidden under the shoe insole.
Good luck, manlets
