Manlets know every centimetre counts and I am something of an autistic heightfraud expert these days, and have been looking at winter footwear options. I like high top AF1s year round tbh but need some variety.

Timberland boots are already well known to be decent height boosting footwear and NT, even though they only add as much or even less height than some thick sneakers, but being a boot makes them great for putting lifts in.

I just wanted to highlight that they have a better model than the 6 inch premium.

The arbor road model features a thicker midsole so you get maybe like an extra centimetre or so.

6 inch premium:

The multi-layer design makes it look less platformy and obvious compared to what you see in women’s boots for example, like these:

IMG 0670

The total boot height is still 6 inches so technically you can’t fit as much lift in, but it’s better for comfort and foot health for more of your total height increase to come from a platform/midsole than a heel lift.

Whilst looking like a coping manlet is bad, I do think that if you are also liftmaxxing, using noticeably thick shoes provides somewhat of a get out of jail free card should somebody call you out for looking taller than usual.

Another option I have found is these new Nike Blazer Roam sneakers
IMG 0673

Ok, they are kinda ugly and obviously increasing height, but I feel like they might be acceptable with certain clothing styles, depending on your age and aesthetic, and again you can liftmaxx and attribute it to the shoes if called out.

Also they are technically only marketed as women’s shoes but why give af about that?

Finally a bonus option which tbh isn’t specific to winter and has a niche use case because you can use taller and less ugly shoes for everyday wear, but if you’re a committed heightfrauder who plays sports on artificial turf, trail running shoes are good, and the best I’ve found are the ASICS Trabuco Max 3

IMG 0674

Massive sole (which is quite normal for trail running shoes) and I have managed to comfortably play sports with a graduated full length lift in them adding just under an inch extra. I usually use like 2 inch lifts in a high top AF1, but using these to be as tall as possible on the field makes the disparity less obvious. And on their own they add more height than AF1.

If you see the same people regularly and want to heightfraud on a permanent basis, you have to be reasonably (but not 100%) consistent in how tall you appear to not arouse suspicions. Last stand emergency option if exposed is always “heel lifts needed for muh achilles tendinitis” or whatever. More believable if some but not all lift is hidden under the shoe insole.

Good luck, manlets

these are heels

I’ll concede that the Nikes are questionable, but the timbs are only slightly thicker than the classic 6 inch premiums, and most trail running shoes look beefy as hell like that for maximal cushioning. They’re not even intended to be height boosting footwear.

And for reading comprehension-cels, reminder that the last pic of timbs I used is an example of what is bad, because they are indeed women’s heels and look too platformy

Manlets gotta do what manlets gotta do

It doesn’t even look off at all with an appropriate fit like loose cargos and oversized tee
What if you have to go to someone’s house. You can’t heightfraud that much forever

most you can heightfraud on a day to day basis is AF1s + 3-4 cm lifts, any more and its over if you take them off

If they can actually create good 3/4cm sock lifts, it would be the perfect system to fraud a bit.

But 3/4cms won’t make that much of a difference, especially for manlets. Probably best for 5’10/5’11 guys

Yes, it’s a tricky situation, but there are strategies, although I’ll concede they’re imperfect.

For starters, in lots of cultures it’s not uncommon to leave shoes on as a visitor.

But assuming that’s not the case, if you know you’re going to someone’s house, you can firstly fraud a bit less, if you’re using multi layered lifts maybe take an inch out, and then when you actually take off your shoes you won’t shrink as much in the moment. Ok yeah people that have seen you a lot still might notice that you’re shorter than realised, you can always admit to wearing insoles for achilles tendonitis or whatever.

You can also be a low-inhib turbo autist and bring platform slides or even better high top slippers with lifts in them and say they’re your indoor shoes that have insoles in for your foot injury or whatever.

Yes it’s a shame sock lifts are terrible.

I think that 3/4cms is similarly valuable to any guy in the range of roughly 5’6” to 5’11”

I was trying to find that old graph that shows what heights women find acceptable. Based on what I remember of that, frauding is probably most beneficial to guys around 5”7’ - 5’8” or so

wtf do people even wear in 2024 anyway

I feel like I’ve mostly just seen AF1s everywhere for years, and other basic sneakers.

You'll never be 6'3 barefoot

Ok, having actually tested those Nikes now, I gotta say I regret including them here. They look more huge and ridiculous than I thought in person, and despite this, they only add a tiny bit more height than AF1s.

The others are legit though

I wear timbs at 6’8” to cancel this out :feelsokman:

Quick reminder that a dude once made a thread asking if putting volufiline on his feet/soles would make him grow some inches.

What would you personally recommend for a 5 feet 8 guy

I’d recommend the same for all serious height frauders regardless of height: High top AF1s (actual high tops, not mids) or those timbs for the winter. I’ve tested them now and they add noticeably more height than standard timbs without looking weird on your feet as the design is good.

You can fit up to like 2 inches of lift in a high top, you’ll need a half size or full size bigger shoe. It might be uncomfortable. If you want to fraud on a daily basis I would recommend maybe reducing this to like 1.5 or even 1 inch if you’re worried about being exposed when removing shoes.

Hard plastic lifts don’t compress so they are way better than the squishy ones most people use causing them to gain less height than they think. The CALTO ones are good and add 1.5 inches (despite claiming more) or 1 if you remove the booster. A true 1.5 inches honestly makes a pretty significant difference imo. Put them under the shoe insole or an additional comfort insole and personally I find this very comfortable. If you want more height, you can add more layers of synthetic cork heel lifts but it will quickly worsen comfort and ease of walking.

If you want to fraud to the absolute max, get 3+ inch elevator shoes (they always add less than they say) and then also add lifts to them. These shoes are normally ugly and non-NT though.

Personally, I’ve never had to remove my shoes flying between the UK and other European destinations.

In the USA, I believe you can sign up for TSA pre-check which (among other things) means you shouldn’t have to remove your shoes.

I’m assuming the main concern is being exposed to people you are travelling with. You could make some excuse and turn up early at the airport and go through security before everyone else.

Otherwise maybe just bring some thick slides or something like these:

Yes, the “fraud” is visible with something like this but I honestly think most people are not gonna think about it without the trigger of seeing you suddenly change in height.

Do you think normies are gonna be running the autistic calculations in their heads: “that sole looks pretty thick but he doesn’t look any taller than usual but normal shoes only give like one inch so therefore he must have inserts in his normal shoes”. No :lul:
