Having an engineering degree makes you very appealing for the respective field of engineering

But… with the more pure degrees you have higher level of math and is way more versatile with career paths.

What do you guys think? What mogs what?

you could always do a minor with math or physics, but a minor with an engineering degree is very hard. people even do two engineering degrees at the same time or lots of people do math or physics minor with cs

also certain types of engineering are more useful than the other like electrical, mechanical, and industrial (more flexible) compared to something more niche like environmental and civil

so just go with something that you have some interest in but allows you to have a job in the future

A statistics degree has so many oppertunities without a minor tho. Machine learning, ai, finance, insurance, business intelligence

Engineering will get you a job easier. Its much more practical.

I'm studying STEM but only chose it because I love learning about how things work. Working in research is fucked in how its structured. I plan on teaching in a university so I wont have to worry about not getting a grant consistently.

yea our school doesnt have a statistics degree for bachelors. industrial eng. acts as that instead

Any areas that you are particularily intruiged by?

Just do software it pays the most.

JFL if you think you can get a Software Engineering job in 2024

You won’t be trying in 2024 if you start studying now.

It’s cyclical.

Whereas traditional engineering is just a permanent downtrend.

I doubt it. And most SWEs in the UK are povertycels.

Software engineering is cope, its all gonna be replaced by AI soon, its also gonna have like no job security even if you get it, because the more AI advances, the less workers are gonna be needed.

Everyone in UK is in poverty unless inherited wealth or nepotism.

Then trades is your best bet if you think this way.

bruh I don't think you guys realize how fucked the job market is in this field
will probably change in a few years just waiting for the uncs who have been occupying a position for fucking decades to either die or retire

and be part of the new wave that applies for the jobs.

OKAY FINALLY SOME HIGH IQ REPLY I JUST NOTICED

now to answer your questions @chasing aesthetics if by "pure degrees" you mean degrees for a very specific field I wouldn't really do that cuz you're just gonna end up working in labs like many other researchcels and eventually end up going back to school for a retraining in the new field you wanna work in like ive seen it for years .

so yeah engineering degree in a high paying field that is not too advanced is the way, probably something in machine/deep learning, statistics, big data (gonna have to wait a bit for this one uncs are leeching the positions).

I know, it's a tough market. I plan on combining my looksmaxxing with my scientific advancement and seduce the women into giving me the job (since I mog the other applicants by a lot). :feelshmm:

I guess you may be right. A lot of people in the pure fields tend to work with research and academia. A 200iq physicist makes a profound discovery and his price is his name on a paper or a nobel prize meanwhile a 200iq engineer starts a billion dollar company

What do you think about quantitative finance?

it's so not worth imo
they all brag about that one research they made a while ago that was cited in some random ass newspapers that only nerds read.
and get paid the salary of a dev intern.
What do you think about quantitative finance?
I am not educated at all on that sorry.
big formulas make brain fry

More likely to replace a programmer, which is getting filled with DEI hires and jeets anyways. Fingers crossed middle management gets raped in the ass though, would love to see it personally.

No we don't its almost impossible landing a software engineering job right now. Why do you think that is?

not only software engineering , tech is dead af and no going back everything will be replaced by ai and low wage countries workers in 2-3 years , it's all over (coming from someone with computer engineering degree)

No it’s not. Most guys aren’t good enough to break in simple as that.

I know some people who got into FAANG, finance firms, Ams ect. Granted they are extremely intelligent and went to targets.

If you don’t go to a good uni and/or have a strong portfolio/experience, forget about getting any good job.

Yeah even entry level tech is hard as fuck to get now, it is beyond over.

Just graduate from harvard, with 10+ years of experience, multiple portfolio projects, and connections then you will break in brooo

Obviously less exaggerated, but yeah. That’s what you need for any top career ( tech, finance ect). If you’re very smart, specialising in AI fields, computational stats ect will make it much easier to break into high paying niche fields which are on the rise.

It is what it is…

No direct experience with either but friends and family members are in those fields. I'd personally go by what you want to do after the degree as it's ultimately a means to an end.
For example if you want to get into the defense industry, something like EE or mech e makes sense.
Finance you'd be looking at Math + finance, stats + math, stats + finance.

maths mogs it can get you into any of those fields

no imo , you can do robotics too with computer engineering and stuff with electronics idk about computer science but it's more focused on software

have you not read my replies above.

I don't know if you actually applied for a position before. Most software engineering jobs are either occupied by oldcels who have been runnin these streets for decades (70% of cases) or iqcels retards who have been employed to promote diversity like useless foids or pajeets. if you're a straight white male good luck your only chance is waiting for oldcels to die or retire

Computer Science + Business/Finance double degree is best

Engineering and any math stat cs analyst degree is incel trait
bbc rapper mogs your 8 years in college

math is the best
