Indo iranians migrated to what is now modern day Iran around 2000 BCE-1600 BCE, the same time the aryans migrated to south asia as well. Actually the indo-aryans were a subgroup/subtribe of indo iranians who split off from the main indo-iranian group and migrated into south asia instead of following the main herd to the iranian plateau.
