to me, metal is beer, sex, rock n' roll and satan (in a sense that it pisses people off), it can be deeper than that ofc (lyrics/image/themes) but it depends on the genre, but those are the core themes imo, not saying this to sound cool/edgy or anything btw but without those themes you wouldn't have anything today

Classical is goated, some electronic stuff, italian and german pop, some rock here and there.

literally any true USBM band like Profanatica, Havohej, VON, Masochist, Summon, Demoncy, they differ from euro BM (norwegian second wave BM to be specific) since they all have death metal roots

Just don’t think it’s good for me. Induces a lot of negative thinking, and i’m pretty sure that held me back.

I mean any other metal genre usually also makes me feel energetic (death, NU etc.)

But DSBM was the main thing i listened to, because i LOVE the instrumentals. No other genre makes me feel the same as it, but i feel like it’s just too brain altering in some way.

atmospheric BM shit is fine but I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of it, Summoning is great tho, and a few other bands





honestly I only listen to atmospheric stuff when I'm in the mood for it and that is not often, but it can be really relaxing especially in winter or when I explore forests, Burzum's ambient/dungeon synth albums are really good for that too

but yeah I think that except DSBM being fucking gay and wimpy when it comes to its themes the music just sucks by itself, 0 riffs :/
