Well, guess what!? It's already happening, in Romania at least in the past decade the number of people working for the state has tripled. Many foreign companies and corporations who opened here branches because of cheap labor have closed, they don't need workers anymore, automation replaced their work.
The increase in unemployment, was solved by the Romanian government by adopting new laws and bureaucratic procedures, for pretty much anything.
All those people who worked before for corporations, are now working for the state pushing pencils and moving paper all day, it's impossible to do anything now in Romania - opening a business, buying or selling stuff, etc. without a ton of paperwork and visits to government bureaucrats.
In the end pretty much everyone will eventually work for the state, it's inevitable...

Self sufficient machines are logically impossible. Flying cars are logically impossible, space travel beyond mars is not possible too. There is a reason why sci fi exists. We can never reach this type of dreams so we cope. It's adapting to all the automation that is replacing jobs, don't worry it will happen in your country too, you will see, a huge spike in unemployment will force the government to create new jobs, where people will do nothing of value - they will just push pencils and move paper, this isn't new, in the past in the UK unemployed people weren't given charity, they received bogus jobs, and were put to build roads that led to nowhere, to keep the appearance that they were doing something of value.

What would you think the algorithm for truth would be? The thing, there isn't one.
The most advanced and most trained language AI can hold a coherent, indistinguishable from a human conversation with a maximum of 3 logical objects.
The problem is, you need a huge cluster to run it. The biggest language model is trained with 175 billion parameters and it is still far from being human like. Unless there are some crazy processing innovations, it won't be possible to make it a lot further without absurd processing requirements.
