That's another interesting phenomenon I have observed.

Most people have a very hard time admitting when someone is of superior race or intelligence than them. It probably stems from tying these two attributes closer to ones personal identity, than say height for example. Most 5'8 men would probably admit that a slightly taller height would be more desirable/superior.
