For thousands of years ppl were helping their next ones and vice versa, because this way the chances for offspring survival were the highest.

Look at how indiigenous tribes in Alaska live or some indigenous tribes in south america. The highest chance for oneself to survive and its offspring is by linking with others and helping each other.
