This is my personal notes dump for DIY Aqualyx. Focused on face (jawline/chin/jowls) for removal stubborn fat although every area of the body is mostly the same process. Everything at your own risk.
What is Aqualyx? it is an injectable liquid that permanently kills fat cells in small stubborn pockets. Main ingredient: modified deoxycholic acid (breaks fat cell walls). Body flushes dead fat naturally. Results permanent if weight stable.
How It Works
How to Get It (US DIY Sourcing)
How to Use It DIY (Basic Protocol – Face Focus) Start conservative — many do 0.5-1 vial first session.

How It Works
- Inject into subcutaneous fat layer.
- Acid damages fat cell membranes → cells die.
- Swelling peaks 3-7 days (you look puffy/worse), then fat clears over 4-8 weeks.
- Peak results: 8-12 weeks per session. Multiple sessions (2-4, 4-6 weeks apart) for best effect.
How to Get It (US DIY Sourcing)
- Not sold legally in US (no FDA approval).
- Gray market: Overseas medical supply sites ship to US (e.g., FillerSupplies, Maylips, PDCosmetics, DKdermal — prices ~$200-600 per box of 10x8ml vials).
- They often require "licensed pro" verification, but some ship anyway (check reviews/forums for current reliable ones). Customs can seize, fakes exist — verify authenticity.
- Alternatives like Kybella are FDA-approved but harder/more expensive for DIY (prescription needed). Stick to Aqualyx if that's the plan.
- Need supplies: 1ml insulin syringes (27-30G needles), alcohol wipes, lidocaine (1-2% for mixing) this is optional if you cant stand the burn, marker for grid (i find blue to be the easiest color but truly does not matter), gloves, ice packs for swelling .
How to Use It DIY (Basic Protocol – Face Focus) Start conservative — many do 0.5-1 vial first session.
- Prep:
- Clean face thoroughly. alcholol pad.
- Mark grid: Draw 1cm x 1cm squares over target fat (e.g., under chin, jowls). Avoid nerves/vessels (watch for marginal mandibular nerve).
- Mix: Add 1ml lidocaine to 8ml Aqualyx vial for less burn (total ~9ml).
- Injection Technique:
- Use insulin syringe/needle (27G+ fine).
- Depth: Subcutaneous fat (pinch skin, inject ~8-13mm deep — feel resistance).
- Pattern: Grid or fan — inject 0.2-0.5ml (20-50 units on insulin syringe) per point, spaced 1cm apart. Example for chin/jaw: 20-40 points total (e.g., 30 units per injection if diluted to 9ml = ~900 units). Retrograde (pull back while injecting) for even spread.
- Aspirate first (pull back plunger) to avoid vessels.
- Total per session: 4-8ml for face (half vial to start).
- Aftercare:
- Ice immediately (reduces swelling).
- No touching/massaging hard first 24h.
- Swelling/bruising: Peaks 3-7 days (plan isolation).
- Pain: Burn during injection, soreness after.
- Lymphatic help: Gentle massage after day 3, drink water, light walks.
- Watch for infection: Redness spreading, fever → seek ER/antibiotics.
