Most people aren’t trying to look smart when they use the term random so saying they are trying to not sound “dumb” is a misinterpretation. Calling something random is just a convenient way to describe a process so complex that no discernible pattern of cause and effect can be ascertained. Most of the time the term is not used by people who are concerned with answering the question of whether or not true spontaneity exists in the universe, they are simply saying that it’s not worth your effort to try and understand the underlying mechanism behind how something works.Randomness doesn't exist. It's just a way to describe ignorance without sounding that dumb.
Obviously the phenotypes that persist will be the more healthy relative to those that don’t exist but the whole point here is that evolution does not seek to optimize any particular trait, not even health.Cope
Looks = health
if there are more than 2 independent factors everything becomes absolutely impossible to predict. its what you would classify as "random"Randomness doesn't exist. It's just a way to describe ignorance without sounding that dumb.
Yeah, so as stated it's a way of saying "We are ignorant about the process, so we will say randomness to sound as if we are not actually ignorant about it and we have cracked the code"Most people aren’t trying to look smart when they use the term random so saying they are trying to not sound “dumb” is a misinterpretation. Absolutely nothing is impossible to predict with the proper tools and knowledge, but whether that is inside the potential of a human being or not is a different story. I'm not against using the term randomness, it's just ridiculous how they use it for evolution or other issues like the Big Bang. They could just answer "We don't know" or "We can't know" instead of "Because of Randomness", but that is apparently prohibited.if there are more than 2 independent factors everything becomes absolutely impossible to predict. its what you would classify as "random"
You are equating far more to an innocuous term than actually existsYeah, so as stated it's a way of saying "We are ignorant about the process, so we will say randomness to sound as if we are not actually ignorant about it and we have cracked the code"
