I'd compare the layout of the map to god of war. One path with different paths leading to secrets etc. But the combat is different. When you encounter an enemy on the map, you can attack it and thta triggers a round based battle.
But within the battle you can still parry enemy attacks etc

Nah it’s turn based combat. I personally don’t like that but the story is awesome
