Extremely important question regarding braces before osteotomy - please help

I've vistied orto surgeon. Im officialy upper-jaw-recessedcel

but there is 1 problem, Im and oldcel (24 yo), asked him how long do I have to wear braces before the surgery - and its fcking 18 months

2 questions

1> do u think he is too bluepilled and I can do it much quicker?
2> even if he is right, can I wear braces for the surgery and then a> I can give up the surgery and my teeth are okay b> after 1,5 year I decide
to change the doc, can I still get the surgery with other doc? (I cant afford the osteotomy at this moment but can afford braces, don't want to waste the time)

please help

Yeh it’s 18 months which is the reason I opted not to go for it and go for genio instead. Gotta weigh up the options and be realistic about these things tbh

its weird because most ppl when they look at me, are not aware of my recessed jaw. But the doc sounded like its a pretty major recession

Try to see another surgeon who does surgery first or surgery early
You may get the operation without completing 100% of the treatment time

If you need a BSSO you've already been jewed bro, you can only go up from there.
Ask him for the rotation he is going for.

I had braces from an orthodontist and had Lefort 1 done from another surgeon so yeah it is possible but both the doctors will need to communicate with each other. Also another thing about braces, you gotta make sure you don't miss appointments and wear your rubberbands (if your orthodontist says you need them) or it'll end up being way longer than 18 months.

im in the same boat, my ortho said you need wear braces for at least 1 year after i will get bimax also my 2 premolar from lower jaw gonna remove, removing premolar scared me little bit so i will have 2 appoitment with surgeons for asking their thoughts

my said exactly 18 months before and 9 after
but actually 9 after doesn't matter because It doesn't affect your look that much <hope I can get implants when wearing it>

You're in the same boat as me, noone can really tell I'm super recessed from the front or even the side really until they really start examining my flat structure. Imo, you should go with the braces then surgery. Thune sacrifice is worth it in the long run

It’s also super annoying and it hurts.
I’m 5 months in. Fortunately less time should be required than the 24 months expected. My teeth moved really fast because of older extractions.
I still advise you to do it, but visit many orthodontists because some can shorten the treatment with more aggressive methods. It is also essential that you chose one that is decently blackpilled and respect what you’re trying to achieve.
Either your bite is fucked and 18 months is the minimum, or your bite is correct and he’s jewing you.

I got braces in Spring, I think in May, and got SMARPE(osteotomy + microimplant expander) in mid july. I had a pretty narrow upper jaw.

So, I had braces for 3 months, but judging by your pictures, my teeth weren't as crooked, just an overbite with tipped in teeth and narrow arch, but my molars were touching.

Ortho said I will need braces for 2 years total.

Planning to get in touch with Andreischev and some Italian/European surgeons to get their opinion, so that I might do DJS without even removing my braces.

If you got laid without braces, you won't have problems getting laid with them.
