It's posited that facial aesthetic[1] is based on geometric and biological axioms, It’s called the golden ratio which correlates with beauty and is found more common in the Caucasian race.
Cultures everywhere in the world have beauty standards that conform to the Marquardt Beauty Mask[2] and the Golden Ratio[3] for facial beauty. Beauty is not in the eye of the beholder. There may be MINOR differences in "tastes" from person to person, but these are more based on sexual fetishes (someone might like asiatic monolid eyes, some don't; some like lighter skinned women, some like darker; etc) than they are on aesthetic sensibility. "In four experiments, we tested the existence of an ideal facial feature arrangement that could optimize the attractiveness of any face given its facial features.
Participants made paired comparisons of attractiveness between faces with identical facial features but different eye-mouth distances and different interocular distances.
We found that although different faces have varying attractiveness, individual attractiveness is optimized when the face’s vertical distance between the eyes and the mouth is approximately 36% of its length, and the horizontal distance between the eyes is approximately 46% of the face’s width.
These “new” golden ratios match those of an average face.” studies cited: [1] Facial attractiveness, symmetry and cues of good genes. -https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1690211/ [2] Beauty in the Human Face and the Golden Ratio - https://www.goldennumber.net/beauty/ [3] New “Golden” Ratios for Facial Beauty - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2814183/
