Loads of tape measures have a gap when you naturally pull upwards on them at the bottom
If you measure height in the evening/afternoon and don't care about exact measurements it doesn't make much of a difference
But if you're someone who likes to be very precise with early morning measurements and likes to be exact then measure how much height is lost from your tape measure
It's usually anything 0-3mm, vast majority being 0-1mm
Mine has a one millimeter gap and then also the metal bit is one millimeter thick so I'm 0.2cm taller than i thought I was
