Mine is Rachmaninoff.

I'm playing this piece for a concert and this part right here is awesome.

What does overrated mean when it comes to personal preference?
Take a look at the rachmaninoff piece I linked. It has gritty texture, rhythmic displacement, counter melodies and sub melodies all in just the short 30 seconds I linked. He does all of that without it sounding gimmicky or out of place. It really adds to the depth and listening experience of the piece.

Chopin only ever wrote melody and accompaniment. Melody in the right hand, chords in the left hand. His music is quite simple and easy but also rewarding, because they do sound nice. He isn't bad by any means, but I don't think he's one of the greats. He wasn't even popular until the 1960's when Rubinstein came around.

I guess that's hard to spot for the untrained ear, but I appreciate the explanation seeing as you have extensive musical knowledge.

This is the best piano song out there. Mogs your shitty classics into oblivion.

JFL if you really believe that is better than the hundreds of years of classical literature.

it mogs hard because it doesn't sound like some schizophrenic oldcel's compositions

You've never found music transcendental have you? Unfortunately classical is best when discovered by yourself, so I implore you to do some research. It is "real" music. Every other genre is a derivative, simplified version of it.

rap beats have nothing to do with classical lol

No classical music for your decoupled collagen fibres.

I like the music I like only if it has a certain type of melody. I don't feel like you would care about the specific type of melody I'm looking for, but all I can say is that classical music does not have what I am looking for in music. That's why I listen to melodic death metal/metalcore from late 90s to late 2000s, eurodance, and late 90s-early 2000s techno for the most part. Those genres surprisingly have a lot in common.

Believe it or not, rap is similar to classical. It has counterpoint, each song starts with an idea then develops it. Just like classical.

Sorry this is retarded logic.. if you describe it like this almost anything can be described as anything lol

What kind of melody or sound are you looking for? I can assure you that classical is insanely diverse, I always find modern sounding pieces that were actually written in 1750 or some shit. It's not all Mozart happy-go-lucky.

It's the very foundation of music. Taking an idea than developing it. All forms of music can be compared to classical honestly, and if we're talking about literal lyrics, mozart even wrote a piece about licking ass. So yeah, rap is basically a super simplified, ultra-repetitive derivative of classical,

Something like this. Beware, it's fast and brutal, but still melodic. I like stuff like this because it makes me feel like I'm a viking sailing ships and shit.

Yeah, I can completely understand where you're coming from. And honestly with the technology we have today that kind of sound is much easily achieved....

But there's many pieces like that in classical where it just goes ham,

Listen to that, turn the volume up if you have to. It's only about 3 mins long.

Chopin, rachmaninoff, vivaldi, dvorak
