So iam in the process of being hired by the city as electrical worker, and just finished off working at one construction site, the new site will be higher pay and wages but i have to wait 3 and half weeks, i think its like 68 a hour. So i decide to call up a old agency so i at least do some type of work and don't sit home. And i get to the facility so iam emailed the work duties of the job before i start and the maintence supervisor meets up with me and tells me the duties. he tells me the last guy worked only three weeks then quit, then he says do you think they found something better.

I now realized why guys are quiting, they lie about the work duties of the job, and say your just cleaner and and give you that title, they ask for you to replace lights, mop, sweep wipe down hand rails. Till you get their now their asking you to mow lawns rake and lawns, supervisor asking you do you know how to trim. The female manager of the site tells you what you need and the supervisor maintence guy is the guy you answer to. Do this ask a slick way to pay you less for more work duties. Its no different from construction companies hiring you as a site cleaner, then asking you to do construction labor duties and ask you to assist with digging drilling etc, its a way to pay workers less money while giving them a lower title and duties but making them do harder work for less pay. I came in and she tried to bat her lashes and give a fake femine voice and ask me to take these bed-frames that are made for 300+ pound men who are mentally retarded , and take them out of the rooms.

She tried to be slick by saying i know its not part of your duties and i don't want you to get hurt and maintence supervisor says something, but can you do me this favor. I picked up this light piece of wood and placed outside and said ye, iam not doing anything else without the supervisor here or him talking to me. She tried to be slick and the end of the day and ask did i remove the stuff i told her no. Guess what i workout 3 times a week i could have done it with a some effort, but i didn't want to set a bad example then their telling me to do all kinds of bullshit.

i love this fkn site you kept it a fuckn 1000. I should have been straight forward and told her its not part of my job discription. I made the situation worse, as now i have less leverage if the supervisor says anything to me. By me handling it that way now the manager knows any bullshit she wants me to do thats not in my job description she can go to the supervisor. If i had just told her its not part of my job discription it would have been from more of a position of strengh and things would have ended most likely there.

Guess what your 100 percent legit, today the supervisor came in and said herma told me she asked you to remove one of the bed frames from one of the rooms and you didn't. I told him when we started on day one you gave me what my duties were and not was not one of them, or even close to it. He looks at me and says who told ya that. I finished up racking the yard and sweeping and cleaning the area then i called the agency. The agency manager told me she would handle it and speak to me tommorow after work.

Basically its a center for mentally retarded adults, most of which are 300-400 pounds. Their trying to be slick by putting down my job description and title as a cleaner so they can pay me less, at the same time make me do maintence worker duties. The supervisor told me on day one the last guy lasted only three weeks and left, the supervisor said do think its because they find something better?

Turns out they start you off doing simple cleaning moping, sweeping changing lights, throwing out trash. Then on week three they start trying to get you to do work like trim and mow lawns, do labor work. Mind you the facility has no elevators you have to on consistant bases go up and down and into the basement.

68 a hour is for prevailing wage jobs here in new york for construction laborer. Meaning its a city job project everyone has to get payed a certain amount. its the wages for the next job site.
