Is Meclizine the best FGFRS inhibitor?
Meclizine is an antihistamine usedto treat nausea and motion sickness but studies have found it to have a positive effect on promoting bone growth.
Overactivity of fibroblast growth factor receptor3 (FGFR3) inhibits chondrocyte proliferation and differentiation in the growth plates of long bones.
This leads to premature closure of the growth plates. This is often caused by mutations but in practice, even if a completely healthy person with no mutations suppresses FGFR3 they will experience longterm benefits in longbone growth.
