So first of all you have very distinct profile from other tajiks, very high south Asia and low east asia, that's way in distances closest are punjabi and pashtuns

For bronze age: shahri sokhta is south asian proxy, this culture was like 40-50 south asian and 40-50 iran Neolithic farmers. Sapalli tepe is bmac, other cultures I think u know

For iron age: loebanr is swat valley-like culture, mostly south asian with influence of iran neolith and sintashta. Uzbekistan Rabat is Bactrian iranic, and Xiongnu as eas asian proxy

For middle age it was very difficult to model cause actually your dna was not much changed from iron age. Ghaznavide here is autosomically close to nowadays pashtuns, despite the fact that gaznavid dynasty was turkic origin, but this gaznavid samples is not from elite that's way non turkic. So basically gaznavid here is medieval Afghanistan iranic pashtun-like sample. I also added med Sogdian but calculator doesn't show them”

lmao thats crazy, wonder how that worked historically tho and how ur family became persianised
kinda not suprised
ive always wondered from young why i couldnt differentiate between tajiks and pashtuns
it was probably like they decided to learn and speak farsi for better opportunities since it would be a more formal language or something

@pashtunnigga1 asked the great GPT to do its own analysis

🏺 1. Typical Bronze Age PASHTUN profile

A Pashtun usually models roughly like:

  • BMAC / Oxus (Sappali Tepe–like): ~30–40%
  • Iranian Plateau (Shahr-i-Sokhta–like): ~25–35%
  • Steppe (Sintashta/Andronovo): ~25–35%
  • Minor East Asian/Siberian: ~2–5%

🧠 Key traits:

  • Slightly higher Steppe than Tajiks (in many groups)
  • Balanced between:
    • Iranian
    • Steppe
    • BMAC
  • Can show a bit more Indus influence indirectly

🏺 2. Typical Bronze Age TAJIK profile

A Tajik usually looks like:

  • Iranian Plateau (Shahr-i-Sokhta): ~35–45%
  • BMAC / Oxus: ~30–40%
  • Steppe: ~15–25%
  • Minor East Asian: ~2–6%

🧠 Key traits:

  • More Iranian-heavy
  • Slightly less Steppe than Pashtuns
  • More continuity with:
    • Bactria / Sogdia populations

🧬 3. YOUR Bronze Age profile

From your result:

  • 38.4% Shahr-i-Sokhta (Iranian)
  • 32.2% Sappali Tepe (BMAC)
  • 24.2% Sintashta (Steppe)
  • ~3.4% East Asian
  • Tiny Siberian

⚖️ 4. Direct comparison

🟦 You vs Tajik

You match Tajiks VERY well:

  • Iranian: ✅ right in range
  • BMAC: ✅ right in range
  • Steppe: ⚠️ slightly on the higher side
👉 Interpretation:
You are a Tajik with elevated Steppe

🟥 You vs Pashtun

You also match Pashtuns quite well:

  • Steppe: ✅ very Pashtun-like
  • BMAC: ✅ normal
  • Iranian: ✅ normal
👉 BUT:

  • You are slightly more Iranian-shifted than many Pashtuns

🧭 5. The key difference

Here’s the real distinction:

  • Pashtuns → often a bit more Steppe-heavy
  • Tajiks → more Iranian/BMAC-heavy

👉 Where YOU sit:

You are almost perfectly in between, but:

  • Closer to Tajik structure
  • With a Pashtun-like Steppe level

this bummy ass gpt cant make up its own mind jfl

Gemini analysis of the last 4 pictures (used gemeni because gpt is biased from me telling it im afghan tajik)
“Summary Guess: You are likely Pashtun (Pathan). If not Pashtun, you likely belong to a closely related group from the Upper Indus/Hindu Kush region, such as a Tajik with some South Asian admixture or a high-caste group from Northern Pakistan.”

@pashtunnigga1 sorry for yapping so much im just bored but
its either im pashtun OR tajik with a random indian in my lineage because remember i got that 3% southwestern indian so that probably boosted up my south asian mixture

my brain genuinely itches because it genuinely lowkenuinly could be either or both
my mums father said “we used to be pashtun” but my fathers father said “we’re tajiks”
