Rhe whole bourbon craze was wild for a while bottle flipping, insane markups, and people hunting down rare releases like van winkle Blanton's like it was gold. Now that the hype is cooling off it's easier to find good bottles at retail without dealing with the secondary market madness. I can finally drink some good whiskey without destroying my wallet

Good for you OP

Taking a break from hard shit

Partially for health, partially finances

Only had a some beers and wines in 2025 (Chinese new year) so far

Thinking of trying out M&H because they recently won the world award
(don't buy if you're against Israel though)

What about curries?

Whiskey from amrut distillery

All jokes aside, Indian beer is no joke

I find alot of them to be 8% ish and not too expensive

Taste is meh tho

Whites drink whiskey and blacks smoke weed
I drink vodka. Dark liquor is actually a black thing from my experience. I’ve never seen a black person buy Tito’s.

Also what is the bourbon craze? I never heard about this.

Not a big fan of vodka tbh. I want me liquor to have some taste and not just burn my tongue and get me drunk.

Huge demand for demand for bourbon whiskey in the 2010s and 2020-22. turned bourbon from affordable and accessible drink into a collector's obsession. people hunting rare bottles flipping them for insane prices and even camping outside liquor stores for new releases. Resellers were flipping bottles for 5-10x their retail price. I remember seeing Pappy Van Winkle bottle that retailed for like $150 selling for over $2,000 on the secondary market.

Not a fan of beer really

But I remember the Indian beer I took years ago... Kingfisher... It was like 8% ABV and packed a punch

I much prefer whiskey (which i am giving up for now) and wine (which I only drink on fancy occasions with meat)

I only drink beer if everyone orders it so I just grab a glass to seem NT:forcedsmile:

How do you feel about tequila? For some reason, it's the only liquor I can stand.

I'm a youngfag so I don't have the tastebuds for neat. I typically mix with lemonade. Whiskey smells better than it tastes to me.

Even I hated whiskey as a youngcel. It is an acquired taste for sure. Maybe try something with lower proof first

I suppose I'll try. I've never had bourbon but I had a bourbon flavored cake that I couldn't even stand a bite of, but I don't know how comparable a pastry is to the real thing lol. Is bourbon just the same thing as whiskey but "raised" differently?

Bourbon is whiskey but it has specific rules that make it unique. Like it has to be made in the US, atleast 51% corn and aged in charred oak barrels. Bourbon actually started out as "poor man's whiskey" because it was cheap, easy to make and widely available it was these retarded influencers that created the hype and turned allocated bourbon bottles into some collectible items

I see. Is it really that much different though? Also, opinions on Maker's Mark?

Yes high corn content makes it sweeter and smoother compared to, say, Scotch, which is smokier and maltier. The charred barrels also give a strong vanilla and caramel taste.Maker's Mark is a solid choice imo. Great for beginners not too harsh and very mellow

I don't like how expensive all scotch is. Probably retarded question but is there such a thing as a clear whiskey/bourbon?

Yes there is no such thing as clear bourbon but there a thing as clear whiskey. It is called "white dog."It's basically unaged whiskey what comes straight off the still before being put into barrels for aging. I’ve never tried it so I can't tell you what it tastes like.
