Finasteride side effects are due to some specific genetic SNPs (Important)

Mainly the ones related to detoxification, methylation and transsulfuration. I'm ahead science yet again (it will take years to low IQ scientists to discover why some men experience side effects from finasteride and some don't...probably in 2030 they will get there), too bad I can't take advantage of that because I'm truly a genetic shit. Not only I'm predisposed to hair loss but I also have the SNPs related to side effects from finasteride and other drugs that overburden the liver. And not only I have those SNP's but I'm even homozygous in some (ie I have both copy of the subhuman gene instead of just one).

Some of the genes responsible to side effects from finasteride are MTHFR, COMT, MAO, SULT1A1 (and other in the same family) ecc.

It's crazy the amount of shitty genetics I have inherited, even if I have this knowledge (and only very very few people know this....almost everybody think the side effects are really because of finasteride lol) I can't do anything about it because I can't change my genes. Meanwhile some people are completely ignorant and dumb as fuck and can save their hair.

So in layman's terms: can you explain who will get the side effects and who won't - and how to tell?

I have no sideeffects from fin 💪🏼

The only thing I do is trying to inhibit aromatase with zinc and OPC and it works well (but I have done no tests, just how I feel and how strong my longschlong is)

tldr: even drugs won't save you if you're a genetic trash

@Lagoon1214 It's very easy to know...just have all your SNPs tested (it cost around 99$ to test hundreds of thousands of your genes) and see if you have the SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphism) related to problems with methylation, detoxification and transsulfuration. If you happen to have them and especially if you are homozygous in those genes then you're fucked. Your body simply can't detox those drugs but not just finasteride...it has problems to all kind of "heavy" drugs....so think about accutane, antidepressants, steroids, recreational drugs ecc especially if taken for prolonged amount of times they cause side effects because your body can't break down those drugs soon enough and they accumulate in your bloodstream and tissues. Those SNPs greatly reduce the enzymatic activity of the genes responsible to breaking down the toxins, drugs ecc and your liver get overburdened and side effects ensues.

Not many people have both copies of those genes, I mean some people have just one copy (they are heterozygous) and they may or may not have side effects (depends how stressed you are or if you take other drugs that put pressure on your detoxification system), but if you have both copies of one or multiple of those genes then there isn't much you can do....even supporting your genes and the methylation and transsulfuration pathways can only do so much.

did you get 23 and me or something?
they give you enough of your genome to test for them right

Your thread is just sad, really sad
The way you said is not a teenager trying to be fancy by saying shit, you truly think this way and kinda accepted it
Lol

fuck are you talking about?

Where do you go to get this tested, I know polymorphisms in methylation and detoxification also basically fuck you over as heavy metals can’t be removed from your body and build up.

just use dermapen and hairgains protocol.

If you are having MTHFR you can supplement with active folic acid form, also you can use betaine which is other of the methyl group donor and used by body interchangeably with active folic acid. For SULT1A1 some substances can increases it like genistein. BTW where did you find that these genes are related to PFS?

Sure, that is if you want to get rid of the side effects of finasteride. Doing that (ie supporting your genetic pathways) plus a clean diet and low stress will make your body able of restoring health. The problem is that those genes make you vulnerable to all kind of toxins and heavy drugs compared to the average population. Basically if you are homozygous in some of those SNPs you will experience side effects from those drugs because your body can't break down those substances soon enough

It's not just the ones I listed here, there are multiple related to side effects from finasteride but they are all related to specific pathways, it doesn't take a genius to figure it out. Many of the guys with side effects from finasteride posted their SNPs online, I also got mine and we all share some genetic trash genes. Those same bad SNPs are shared by people who experience side effects from accutane, antidepressants, steroids ecc. And of course it makes complete sense given that having both copies of those genes will slow down so pathways up to 70% compared to the normal.

I used another company but you can also get tested from 23 and me, the problem is that they don't test all SNPs related to health, other companies are better but they are good enough to understand if you are genetic trash

Tbh I've taken drugs before and even been on painkillers as a young guy due to long term back injury (totally fine now). So guessing i don't.
What kind of test is it? How can i find it? Thinking of going onto it now. I'm almost 30. My hair is fine when i style it right, but it has gone back to nw2-3 maybe.. That said my mum's dad still had it when he was 60 so its slow at going back. But wouldn't mind stopping it now before any worse.
Thansk for explanation appreciate it.

if balding was a woman's issue it'd be fixed in a year

Big if true. Would make me feel more at ease knowing that that's what can be attributed to side effects for those who get them, and not the long term suppression of androgens. Been on it for 10 1/2 months

cool, kind of want to get it done but i dont trust any of these companies with my genome
