You got away very cheap, some people find this the hard way when they lend much more to "friends": thousands, tens of thousand, maybe even more and then don't get their money back.

Agrees my step brother came to me begging and borrowed like £2k off me.

Practically made me out to be a pedo to not pay me back. No one believes him and years later he hasnt shown his face in shame.

Happened to my mom , 7 years ago she lent $1.2k to her close friend because her friend's son is in trouble. She helped her because of friendship and she is also a mom too. She still don't get that money back.
I don't understand why "friends" and the locals only come to my house to borrow our money. We aren't even rich , just middle class teachers' family
The richest local guy lives next door , he is a banker.
