A recessed chin or jaw causes forward head posture because that is the optimal position to have the airways most open to breathe.
However, my forward head posture will then cause lean back posture as my body tries to balance itself. You appear a little shorter and you appear like you are always slouching, even if you are standing in a comfortable but upright position.
So naturally, the first instinct is to correct it. Sleep without a pillow and on your back is the first step. Dont look down at your computer monitor... etc....
Now when I do a chin tuck, like bringing my forward head posture back to "correct alignment," I look like the bob the burger guy. Basically no chin at all.
So it appears that fixing bad posture will lead to your chin looking bad. Am i doomed to have forward head posture or slouch forever just because i dont want my recessed jaw to look horrible?
