Many times I see some of my friends on Snapchat (that I also sometimes know irl), that are around the same age as I am, like 16 year old dudes flex cash on their Snap stories. I always considered that to be very fucking low IQ, pathetic and a peasant thing to do, because we all know they aren't really rich and it took them like half a year to save up 2000 euros or they could be wageslaving and I don't think anyone is proud of that.

So this Christmas I got some cash, because I worked for my dad here and there and we had a deal so I got like 500 euros in cash. Which is fucking nothing in the real world, but it is a lot for a 16 year old with zero living expenses to get in one evening, that has never had a real job before. Minimum monthly wage is also around 700 euros in my country, but everything is much cheaper in my country, food, rent etc.

The money was all in 50 euro banknotes. So I decided to make a joke and post a picture on my Snap story. I put a sixpack of Pepsi on the floor and 10 x 50 euro banknotes in front of it, folded just like in this picture, but there were ten and the new versions of it. Then I added the caption "Santa was really modest this year" as a joke, as if i only got Pepsi for the present.

Then some dude that I know from elementary school tried to make fun out of it and said "bro, I legit had twice as much saved up last year from my scholarship, this is nothing hahaha". Now scholarships work differently in my country, you as a student get paid money in your bank account and college is free for everyone. But it is extremely hard to get a scholarship. SO HE JUST TOLD ME IT TOOK HIM 1 YEAR TO GET 1000 EUROS JFL AT HIS STUPIDITY, I GOT HALF OF THAT IN ONE EVENING. HE JUST DEGRADED HIMSELF.

Then I sent him a video of counting all my savings to show him that I really got this money for Christmas and that's not "my entire savings."

NOW I FEEL FUCKING PATHETIC BECAUSE THESE KIDS FLEX THEIR WHOLE YEAR ENTIRE SAVINGS WHEN THEY HAVE LIKE 5000 EUROS AND I PUT UP A STORY WITH 500, THAT I REALLY GOT AND IT LOOKS LIKE POCKET CHANGE. I NEVER WANTED TO "FLEX CASH", I JUST PUT IT UP TO SHOW MY XMAS PRESENT, BECAUSE ALL PEOPLE DO THAT ON SNAPCHAT.

Don't you just fucking hate it when these kids put their ENTIRE GODDAMN NETWORTH that they have in cash and been saving up for years on their stories as in "I made this money this month". They live in flats and think they're rich, because they have money in cash. Meanwhile I have money invested in stocks, my PayPal, I have a lot invested in shoes and electric guitars (which might sound weird, but I collect guitars).

POINT OF THIS STORY: NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE IN LIFE, EVEN IF YOU'RE A MILLIONAIRE, NEVER FLEX CASH, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT PEASANTS DO. RATHER SHOW OFF YOUR ASSETS, YOU CAR, YOUR HOUSE ETC. I WAS BEING LOW IQ AND WILL NEVER DO THIS AGAIN.

It's a lot better to have a subtle flex like nice car (audi, beamer, mercedes) or expensive clothing. I agree, directly flexing is pretty low class & tasteless.

if you’re really about your money you don’t post it and definitely don’t flex with some silly designer clothes

don’t know why they brag about chicken change, 2kish a month doesn’t even make me feel comfortable.

I absolutely agree. The guys that do this all the time on Snap are literally one of the poorest that I know. But they are fuckboys, so I tried it because I tried to be "low inhib" or something... I regret it now, it's always better to stay classy and high-class than primitive, even if you have a lot of money and you are the 1%. I would say my family falls under upper class regarding net worth, but this isn't difficult in my country, you just have to work abroad or for foreign companies from your home and you will make much more than the wage is here.

In my country health insurance is almost free and cheap, college is free too. You can legit buy a normal house in a village for 70,000 dollars. Food is also cheaper and much better than in the USA, because it comes from local farms that care. I just see benefits everywhere. Our nature is superior and it's a relatively developed country, next to Italy and Austria.

I have personally never been to the UK or the USA myself, but I know some people who went there on a holiday. One guy was very excited to try out the American McDonald's compared to ours. He said that the Slovenian McDonald's tasted much better, because of the quality of meat, he said the American burger didn't even taste like real meat and he didn't like the taste of it at all.
