Historically, women have been the primary selectors in evolutionary biology. They choose mates based on resources, status, security, and provision. This naturally incentivized men to compete with each other, not just physically, but through who could provide more: better shelter, more food, shinier objects.
Over time, this competitive provisioning evolved from 'who brings the biggest mammoth' to 'who owns the most land' to 'who controls the most markets.'
The entire economic system of private ownership, wealth accumulation, and market competition is, at its root, a direct result of men optimizing for female choice.
Without women's selective pressures, there’s no incentive for excess production, no arms race for better goods, and no emergence of proto-capitalist trade networks.
