Saw a thread made by @NorwoodAscender/@PsychoDsk (no idea if I'm supposed to @ them but doing anyway seeing as how they were asking about results, apologies if I'm not supposed to) asking for peoples experiences with Taz vs Tret so I decided to make this.
Tazarotene is much better than Tretinoin in almost every aspect, it's the strongest retinoid by far, at least the strongest topical and is even comparable to accutane resultswise. .1% Taz is much, much stronger than .1% Tret although the effects on everything else besides acne is very minimal, and results are almost guaranteed compared to Tret which is more of a person to person experience. Your skin barrier will not be destroyed and it isn't as heavy on you as Tret, as long as you get into it slowly and properly.
I've used both and Taz actually did work for acne scarring for me as well, and around the time I got Taz, I had been using Tretinoin for around 3 months, and a month into Taz, my acne scarring started to fade and my skin became clearer.
Overall, I recommend Taz over Tret 100%, it's a much better product that does everything Tret does but better, without most of the annoying side effects (I personally haven't experienced any bad side effects besides maybe dry skin which of course it guaranteed with any retinoid and is easily fixable.)
