I do judo. my experience however is that a lot of it is more of a meditation than good fighting, learning how to control your body and timings etc. after taking to a mixed martial arts perspective. all of the throws work in judo obv because the rules were made so they did, but less than half are really viable unless you truly master them in a proper fight (moreso any fight between martial artists where you can strike and leg grab, a street fighter will lose to anything).

did judo for a while, other martial arts too, very hard sport tbh i have a big respect those who has done it for over 10+ years

I've actually did it in my late high school

but then I quit at sankyu/blue belt due to how shitty the rules and regulation is, the fucking oldcel faggots in IJF are still banning leg grabs and some submissions even for those who doesn't train for olympics.

also I'm still struggling to memorize and pronounce the Japanese terms in Judo until this day. like I knew how to execute the techniques and then when the sensei asked me what's the name of that technique I will get my ass whooped for the wrong answer
