For the men here who want to have children and are either unattractive themselves or willing to settle for an unattractive partner—or both—would you try to convince your wife to let you fertilize an attractive woman's egg and make your partner act as the surrogate? Or would you genetically modify the child to look attractive but nothing like your partner? (Adoption is out of the question, since I know how egotistical and legacy-oriented people can be, especially here).

The effect your partner choice on how attractive your kids are is overblown. Even 2 good looking parents may birth a average son.

Yes, of course your genetic makeup isn't everything but it still plays a crucial role.

I would rather grow a baby in an aquarium, so the mother and I would have someone to talk to as we sprinkle the food on top of the water.
