Bush in 2000 campaigned on a "humble" foreign policy, saying he wanted to avoid military interventions, nation-building, and foreign entanglements. Many people believe that if Al Gore had been elected President these wars in the Middle East wouldn't have happened but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Gore was much more hawkish than Bush and was Clinton's VP as he starved to death over 500k Iraqi Children with brutal sanctions.
