Let me spit some game for a second. When you have high bodyfat, the upper part of your face gets fat and bloated, alongside the lower part, and when both of them end up becoming equally bloated, they are equally big, and therefore your face will be flat, because both upper and lower part is protruding, however, when you lose bodyfat, since its harder to get rid of the fat from the upper lip down, whilst the fat above that ends up dissapearing very quickly, that's how forward growth gets created.
I will give you an example:
As you can see in this photo, here we have Jordan Barrett, but wtf is wrong with his face? Where is the forward growth? Due to the fact that he is currently bloated and relatively high on bodyfat, the bloatness of his upper facial area, protrudes and makes it so that his lower area is nothing special, from this photo you would think his maxilla is recessed...
BUT!
Here the bloatness of the upper facial area is completely gone, while the lower part has basically lost all it's fat, leaving the lower area protruding outwards, otherwise known as a very well developed maxilla.
