I was doing Maths on the board and I wanted to find some tricks on my own to calculate things faster so what I did today is tried to find a trick for subtraction of 4 digit or 3 digit numbers.
This is a very basic trick, nothing extraordinary tbf but I just wanted to share with you guys so that you could easily calculate in your mind and find out.
This is only applicable for numbers (3 digit and 4 digit)that end with zeroes only.
1st example,if you wanna subtract say,
1569 from 9000,you would first-
Step 1o 9000-1500(leave the 69)
Step 2:After you get answer from step 1,
that is 7500,now subtract the 69 from 7500 and you have 7431
Step 3:If you want to verify you can add the end result of Step 2 with the number you are initially subtracting from
Few other examples:
1.9000-861,
Do 9000-800 first,you get 8200
Then subtract 61 from 8200 and you have your answer 8139
2.1000-284,
Do 1000-200 you get 800 and then do 800-84,you have your final answer as 716
3.8000-3758,
Do 8000-3700,you get 4300 and then subtract the 58 from 4300,you have your final answer 4242
Note:This is only applicable for subtracting from numbers that end with only 'zeroes'
I hope this could be helpful and make you r calculations easier
